James Power [4(4)-0] returns to Mexico as he fights for the first time since he completed his Leaving Cert.

The Cork prospect has secured a slot on the ‘Noches De Boxeo’ fight card and returns to the ring as early as this month.

The 18-year-old takes on a yet to be confirmed opponent in Tijuana on November 30.

It’s not the first time Power has fought in Mexico or Tijuana, he debuted there as a 17-year-old in September of last year, registering stoppage victory over Omar Santos Alvarado.

His second pro fight also played out south of the border, that one a knockout win over Saul Victorio.

The Macroom fighter’s next two wins came in Hungary before he took time out for his exams,

He has since relocated to LA and is training under former South African heavyweight contender Courage Tshabalala and alongside the McKenna brothers Stevie and Aaron.

The November 30 fight will be his first under the guidance of Tshabalala and since he relocated Stateside.

It’s believed Ireland’s youngest pro will soon sign terms with management group Sheer Sports, who look after Jason Quigley, the McKennas and Bret McGinty,
