Also featuring on the stacked Cyclone Promotions bill in Cardiff is Mountain Ash’sTony Dixon, who bids for his first professional title against Belfast’s 2010 Commonwealth Games gold medalist Paddy Gallagher, in a genuine 50/50 contest for the vacant BBBofC Celtic welterweight championship.

Cyclone Promotions founder and former world featherweight champion Barry McGuigan is excited by both of these domestic title fights on this huge night of boxing in the Welsh capital.

“May 14 at the Ice Arena Wales in Cardiff is going to be a great night of world championship boxing,” said McGuigan. “The undercard for Haskins v Morales is stacked full of some of British and Irish boxing’s most exciting prospects. Andrew Selby vs Louis Norman is a terrific contest for the vacant British flyweight title. This is Andrew Selby’s chance to shine on the big stage in front of his home fans and I believe he will do just that, he’s a super talent who has a very bright future in the sport. Tony Dixon against Paddy Gallagher for the vacant Celtic welterweight title is a real 50/50 contest that has the potential to be the fight of the night. It’s going to be a fantastic evening for the fans in the arena and the viewers at home on Spike and Channel 5.”

Undefeated Andrew Selby is on a mission to become Wales’ next world champion. The gifted twenty-eight year old is determined to follow in the footsteps of his famous older brother Lee, the IBF world featherweight champion. On May 14 at the Ice Arena Wales the younger Selby challenges for the vacant British flyweight title against Leicestershire’s Louis Norman, 11 – 1 – 1, in only his fifth professional contest. Victory for the man from Barry, Wales, would give Selby the Welsh record for the fewest bouts taken to win a British title.

“I’m delighted to be boxing for the British title on May 14 in Cardiff,” said Selby. “It’s going to be a big night for Welsh boxing and I can’t wait. I’m in against a good opponent in Louis Norman but I believe I have that bit extra. I want to win the British title in style and ultimately I want to be a world champion. This is the start of my championship boxing journey.”

In another intriguing title bout on the undercard of Haskins v Morales, Mountain Ash’s undefeated Tony Dixon faces off against Belfast’s Paddy Gallagher for the vacant Celtic welterweight belt. The teak tough twenty-three year old Dixon, 7 – 0, takes a step up in class against 2010 Commonwealth Games gold medalist Gallagher, 9 – 2, in an exciting ten-round contest between two all-action fighters.

The undercard for Haskins v Morales will be screened live and exclusively on Spike (Freeview, BT TV, Talk Talk channel 31; FREESAT channel 141; Sky channel 160) on May 14. Haskins v Morales, IBF world bantamweight title fight, will be screened live and exclusively on Channel 5.
