Russell Jr fails to make check weight

Gary Russell Jr has failed to register his 30 day pre weigh in to the WBC.

Russell Jr  makes his first defence against Hyland in Foxwoods on April 16, but seems to have failed to make the check weight. It would at first glance appear good news for the Challenger from Tallaght, but the fight may be in doubt.

The WBC issued the following statement:

The World Boxing Council has NOT received the 30 days pre weigh in of Gary Russell Jr., who will be fighting Patrick Hyland, with his WBC featherweight title on the line, April 16th.
