Eubank Jr was upset that Spike was pulled out – he wanted to REALLY hurt him says Dad

Chris Eubank Jr wasn’t full of the joys of victory in the moments following his victory over Gary ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan, indeed he was disappointed when the Cork man’s corner pulled him out after seven rounds.

Eubank Jr isn’t a closet ‘Spike’ fan, rather he wanted the fight to continue so he could ‘really hurt’ the Irish middleweight according to his father and former Steve Collins foe Chris Eubank.

The former super middleweight champion of the World claims his ‘mean-spirited’ son was upset by O’Sullivan’s pre fight antics and even suggested he worried the Celtic Warrior Gym puncher had got under his skin.

Spike plants a smacker on Eubank Jr

Reflecting on the December 12 clash Eubank told SportsJoe.ie that “He took it really personal when Gary kissed him before the fight.”

“He very much took it to heart and I said to him ‘he’s supposed to do that.’

“The only chance that ‘Spike’ had against him was to dislodge him, to get under his skin. And it seemed to me that he had but he can’t let people do that.

“He’s mean-spirited as a fighter but as a human he’s a gentleman. He is his father’s son. As a fighter, though, he’s a hurtful fighter! He’s compulsive viewing already.”
