DiBella dangles world title carrot in front of Lee

Lou Dibella has dangled the world title carrot in front of Andy Lee ahead of his Brian Vera revenge mission.
The promoter, who claims Lee is just behind stable mates Sergio Martinez and Matthew Macklin in the best middleweight in the world rankings, said he would consider putting the Limerick middleweight in against world champ Martinez if he gets Vera redemption.
Lee has said the October 1 clash, which is chief support to Sergio Martinez and Darren Barker’s world title head to head, is personal and not world title related, but the New York based promoter seems to think there is a world title challenge on the horizon for the Limerick man.
The American promoters also revealed a mouth watering all Irish clash between Macklin and Lee is a strong possibility.
“”I don’t like to talk about the future, especially with such a dangerous fight, but if Andy wins, there is a lot we can do with him. We could match him against Sergio in New York City. There is also the possibility of an all Irish showdown between him and Macklin, who showed in his performance against Felix Sturm that he is one of the best middleweights in the world. First things first though, Andy must take care of business against Vera.”
“I truly believe that Andy, behind Sergio Martinez, and maybe Mathew Macklin, is the best middleweight in the world. He is on the verge of becoming a star, but he has a very tough test in front of him on October 1st, in Brian Vera. This is not going to be an easy fight by any means, but it is going to be an exciting one, that I can guarantee. Andy wants to prove that the first fight was a mistake, and Brian wants to prove that it wasn’t. These guys are both going to leave it all out on the line, and as a true fight fan, what more could you ask for?”
