Sutcliffe to return in July – hopes to fight British foe
Philip Sutcliffe Jr will look to return to winning ways in July.
‘Succo’ lost for the first time as a pro after a close majority decision reversal against European #2 Anthony Yigit in May on a Sauerland card in Germany.
The Dubliner is keen to get back on the horse straight away, and they feeling in his camp is that he may not be too far of a European title shot – despite the defeat at the gloves of the 2012 Olympian.
The new EBU rankings are due out soon and veteran manager Pat Magee will plot a short term plan once they are published. To challenge for the EBU title in the near future the 26 year old Crumlin banger needs a win and he plans to register victory number 10 by the end of next month.
“Philip will fight in July,” manager Pat Magee told Irish-boxing.com. “We have options, it is just about picking the right date. We are looking to get him a British opponent or, if we can’t, then someone from France or Italy.”
