Paddy Barnes: I don’t want to see McIlroy represent Ireland at the Olympics
PADDY Barnes doesn’t pull punches, be it physically or verbally and Ireland’s Olympic hero caused a stir on Twitter again this week.
The refreshingly honest two time Olympic medal winner questioned golfer Rory McIlroy’s commitment and said he would prefer not to see him represent Ireland in RIO 2016.
McIlroy put an end to speculation surrounding his allegiances for the 2016 Olympics by declaring that he would represent Ireland.
The golfer insisted it was a decision he had to take time to make but was proud to choose Ireland having been repeatedly linked with representing Great Britain in the next Olympics.
However, popular Belfast fighter Barnes questioned McIlroy’s commitment and the delay surrounding the decision.
