McMahon suspended by WBC for going public about Mexico farce
Christina McMahon has been suspended by the World Boxing Council for going public about the succession of failings which occurred before, during, and after her WBC super flyweight title challenge against Zulina Munoz in March.
The Monaghan woman was controversially defeated by Munoz but has since revealed evidence of glove tampering and improper anti-doping procedures in addition to the dubious scorecards
McMahon today received a Facebook message from WBC Female Championship Committee chair Malte Müller-Michaelis (pictured) informing her of her suspension in the wake of an exclusive exposé by Irish-Boxing.com which cast serious doubt over her ‘defeat’ in Juarez in March.
A full statement from the WBC has been requested.
