Hillerby: I just want to fight and stay busy
JOE Hillerby just wants to fight- and doesn’t care what promoter or governing body it’s for.
Hillerby, who was an Emerald boxer alongside the likes Willie Casey, Anthony Cacace and the Ginley brothers when they were operating earlier this decade, out pointed former Irish champion John Waldron on a Malta Boxing Commission show last week – and is now keen to keep active.
The former Irish light middleweight title challenger was out of the ring for nigh on two years between 2013 and March of this year and doesn’t want a repeat. The Belfast puncher won’t let politics get in the way of his activity and says he will appear under any banner once he gets the chance to fight.
Speaking to Irish-boxing.com after his recent win ‘The Faith’ said,
“It was brilliant to get back to winning ways and get a good 10 rounds in the bank. I thought I boxed really well and controlled the fight with the jab. I was never in any trouble and got the win handy.
“I am hoping to be out again before Christmas wheter it’s a Malta show or a British show it doesn’t really matter to me. I am in this game to fight. I am not waiting around months with out nothing. I’m looking to get busy and fight on what ever shows are available to me.”
