Gary Cully links up with Pete Taylor for pro assault

It has been confirmed today that new pro Gary Cully will train under Pete Taylor as he begins new chapter in his career.

The Naas lightweight made his move into the pro ranks last week, signing a management deal with MTK Global.

The long southpaw will now join up with Taylor at the Taylor Made Gym in Bray. Cully is the third pro to link with Taylor alongside heavyweight Sean Turner [10(7)-1(0)] and lightweight Davey Oliver Joyce [2(2)-0].

Turner would lose his first fight under Taylor, dropping a narrow decision to dangerous Pole Kamil Sokolowski. Joyce, who holds split-decision amateur win over Cully, followed this up with two impressive stoppages over Gabor Kovacs and Lesther Cantillano.

21 year old Cully, formerly of St David’s BC, won European Youth gold as an underage fighter and Best Boxer at the Haringey Box Cup as a senior.

A debut date for the lilywhite is expected soon.
