TV
there is some debate re boxing and the lack of it on Irish tv!
do people think TV stations are ignoring the sport, or do the believe that it is too expensive to show.. I think its down tot he BUI to market boxing in such away that it is not deemed a minority sport. If the public consume it in numbers it makes finacail sense for TV stations to air it. The health of boxing is not RTE etcs responsibility. They air rugby etc because it brings in hundreds of thousands of viewers at very little cost. BUI, promoters, boxing fans etc need to work to make boxing indispensible to tv stations.... what you think? |

RE: TV
Would it actually cost the tv stations much to broadcast Irish title fights? Alot of boxers seem to be moving to England for examlple and this can only be bad for Irish boxing. Im sure the tv issue is the reason we arent seeing as many shows in Ireland too. Bring back the days of Dunne, Murry, Lee and even Dudy fighting on RTE, PLEASE!!!
