Florida dates confirmed for Coyle & Cooley – Coyle to move weight

Derry duo Connor Coyle and John Cooley will fight next month in Florida.

The Jim McLaughlin-trained pair, who were amateur team mates at St Joseph’s ABC, will box at the Tampa Covention Centre on Friday September 16th against to-be-announced opposition.

Super bantamweight Cooley [1(0)-0] made his debut back in June, outpointing Roberto Carlos Martinez over four rounds.

Since then the 29 year old has been joined in St. Petersburg by his old amateur buddy, who flew out to the Sunshine State last month.

26 year old Coyle, who won middleweight bronze at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, will make his debut at a 158lbs catchweight and it is his intention to fight at light middleweight in the pros.
