Declan Geraghty gave a quality performance tonight in Scotland to score the biggest win of his career thus far.

The Dubliner dominated unbeaten home favourite Michael Roberts Jr at the Paisley Lagoon Leisure Centre in Glasgow to win a ten round points decision.

Initially due to be for the BBBoC Celtic featherweight title, fight week weight issues saw this belt scrapped. Eventually the lowly-regarded British Promoters Association International Challenge belt was brought in, however it was the victory, and the manner of the win, that is the main thing taken away from tonight.

Geraghty had been stopped in the sixth round of an Irish super featherweight title fight with James Tennyson back in March, but jumped straight back in with another big opponent – answering the call to face Roberts following the withdrawal of another Scot, Stephen Tiffney.

The MTK southpaw was just too good throughout, and eased to a wide points win, picking off Roberts as he tried to push the fight.

After ten rounds, Geraghty was awarded the decision on a scorecard of 98:92.

The win sees Geraghty now improve to 15(4)-2(1), while the outclassed Roberts drops to 19(1)-1(0)-1.
